A personalised message is your own wording for a reminder or check-in — recorded on the phone or written as a text — and that schedule will not deliver until the message exists. During first-time setup you only flag which times need a personalised message; you create the recording at the end of the signup process.
Setting up a service for the first time
When you set up a new service, you add each time slot on call details, then Change the schedule to choose what it should say.
If you pick a Personalised message for that time, you will not record anything yet. The screen tells you that personalised messages are created at the end of the signup process — for example:
- You will be able to create this personalised message at the end of the signup process.
- If you wish to create your own version of this message you will be given the option to do so at the end of the signup process.
Finish the rest of setup (support network, who will record if asked, payment where applicable, and summary). Only then follow the recording steps below.
Recording after setup (or updating a service)
Once signup is complete — or any time you are managing an existing service — open call details. Schedules that still need a recording show Record message. You can also Change a schedule and use the recording option next to a Personalised message.
How to record a personalised audio message (phone)
For services that deliver by phone, CareCalls records your message with a live call to you:
- Choose Record message (or Create new personalised message / Create your own version when editing a schedule).
- On the record screen, enter the phone number you want us to call and review the script shown on screen (you can edit it).
- Select Record message. The system will call that number so you can speak your message. Keep a good signal and stay on the page — it shows Calling… while the call is in progress.
- When the call finishes, the message is saved and linked to that schedule.
How to create a personalised text message (SMS)
For services that deliver by text (SMS):
- Open the same record screen from Record message or the personalised option on the schedule.
- Type the message in the text box — this is exactly what will be sent.
- Name the message if prompted, then select Add message to save.
There is no phone call for SMS personalisation; you write the wording in the app.
When will reminders and check-ins start?
A given reminder or check-in will not deliver until its personalised message has been recorded (or, if your account uses a team to record on your behalf, until that process is complete). Your dashboard may show a personalised messages pending notice until everything is ready — see what can delay your first delivery.
After recordings are done, the same personalised message can be selected again on other schedules if the wording fits.
Tips before you record
- Say which medicine, task, or appointment — not a vague “take your tablets” if several doses apply.
